What does MLL do?

The Mutual Learning Lab is a group of volunteers from different science discipline. Its activities turn around: Data science and analysis, web development and teaching students through a mutual approach.

Our work domain

Data science and analysis

Statistical modelling, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and mathematical modelling are the three main tools promoted by MLL in its work. We will try to use those tools in scientific research to improve their quality and to reach innovation in research approach.

Web application development

We build dynamic online platform that can be used on desktop and on portable devices. All application built by the MLL aimed to help scientist and university. For instance facilitating people interaction with scientist through a mobile application on plants authentification, facilitate university administrative work through a content manager system.

Mutual Learning Approach

Currently, teaching and learning system in Madagascar do not give good result in term of student's skills. Consequently, instead the traditional system, the MLL promote the mutual learning approach. Along the learning process, students of different levels for a given tools are mixed and will learn together. Here, student's skills exchange is emphasized against competition for the best grade.

Our project

AI based wood identification application

(in progress)

Helping scientific authority and the government to fight illegal trade of precious woods in Madagascar is the main goal of this project. This project planned to build an application that will identify automatically trees species by using woods macroscopic anatomy photographies. This is done through artificial intelligence trained using thousands photographies.

Malagasy commercialized plants web platform

(in progress)

Currently information about commercialized plants in Madagascar are dispatched in many local database. The objectives of this project are to centralize those information inside a single database and build an interactive web application that help stakeholders to identify and check if a specific plant are commercialized or not.

High institute of Antsirabe and Vakinakaratra web app

(in progress)

This webs app was aimed to help the Hihg institute of Antsirabe and Vakinakaratra staff to manage and monitor their activities and works. Inside this web application anyone can seek informations about lecturers, courses and university events. Some administrative paper would be made available on the web application especially for students.
